Teal Russeau is from Wheaton, IL, a suburb of Chicago, IL. She grew up dancing there for 19 years, where she originally found her passion for movement and creativity. She used dance as an emotional outlet throughout middle and high school, by joining the dance team, starting a dance camp business with her best friend, and continuing to pursue choreography in college.
Teal attended North Central College, a private liberal arts school in Naperville, IL, for Psychology and English, with minors in Spanish and Gender and Women’s Studies. Throughout college, she choreographed and taught for Cardinal Dance Company, where her favorite style became contemporary ballet. Teal plans on pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in the near future, with the intention of never ceasing to dance alongside her future career in the mental health field.
After graduating college, Teal moved to Columbia, SC with her family, and works as an Enrollment Coach at Midlands Technical College, where she walks students through the admission process to start their college careers. She loves teaching, dancing, and working with kids, so Teal is very excited that she found a way to continue her dance journey as a teacher at Bailey Fine Arts Center!
