Melissa Lester has been dancing for 18 years and grew up dancing at Buffa’s Dance Studio in Burke, VA. She has been trained in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Hip-Hop. After she graduated from high school, she moved to Los Angeles, California to be a member of the Dancer’s Bridge program at Retter’s Academy of Dance. During that year, Melissa auditioned for Fox’s hit television show So You Think You Can Dance and made it to Vegas week. She moved to Columbia to begin the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Midlands Technical College this August. She has attended Kirov’s Academy of Ballet summer intensive in Washington, DC and was a member of Dancemakers original Collective touring and assisting teachers such as Kathryn McCormick and Kyle Robinson. Melissa loves dance and is excited to share her knowledge and her passion of dance with her students.
