Kimberly Langley is excited to begin her third season teaching at Bailey Fine Arts. Originally from Irmo, South Carolina, she began her formal training with Naomi Calvert and Ann Brodie in Columbia, SC. Her love for dance started with tap at the age of 3. Her training continued in classical ballet under Radenko Pavlovich, Mariclare Miranda, William Starrett, Adolfina Suarez-More. She had the privilege to study with world renowned Prima Ballerina of the Bolshoi Ballet, Maya Plisetskaya, Michael Lland and David Howard , tap with Jeff Lander and Chuck Kelley, and began her jazz training with Nancy Giles. Kimberly received a dance scholarship to The University of South Carolina.
With over twenty years of teaching experience in the Midlands area and North Carolina, she is the former director of a dance company that achieved national rankings in their very first year. Kimberly has been an adjudicator for Starpower and Starsystems and an Instructor for DMA. She performed locally with the USC Dance Company, Columbia City Ballet ,The Carolina Ballet and UNBOUND. Among her performance accolades, she was invited to dance in NYC with Peter Gossamer and a selection of Rockettes for the Governor of New York.
Her high energy teaching style motivates students to push beyond their limits. She is known by her students for the phrase “just one more time”. She has won numerous awards for her lyrical/contemporary choreography as well as choreographing the tap routine performed by Miss South Carolina and Grand Talent winner, Jeanna (Rainey)Beasley. Students that have been under her tutelage have been accepted to several distinguished performing arts schools and have received scholarships at many notable competitions including Youth America Grand Prix, performed with The Rockettes Christmas Spectacular, SYTYCD, Vegas, Broadway, Opryland, and Disney.
